This weekend was RAM weekend.
Remote Area Medical (RAM) Health Expedition.
It's a community outreach project that provides free medical, dental, optical and veterinary services to the under-served, under-insured and unemployed.
My husband saw patients. Real live people. People who really really really needed him.
It re-ignited a passion in him that had been a little dimmed by 14 hour days of studying, testing and exhaustion.
With his help...
842 people received dental, vision and medical care.
264 cats and dogs were spayed and neutered.(well he didn't do that part :)
The doctors and medical students found...
four suspected cases of lung cancer,
a possible brain tumor,
lots of hypertension and
one patient turned out to be having a heart attack.
That patient was transported to the hospital and later airlifted to Knoxville.
Our clinic and medical staff helped to save his life.
I helped by making a video about the day.
