So now that Dylan is nearly 29 months old we have been working a few transitions.
Well more like "preparing" for a few transitions.
As mostly we've been talking and reading about them.
1. Toddler Bed
He's very excited for this transition.
We talk about it daily. Read "Ready for a Big Bed" by Elmo nightly.
The only thing holding us back from actually doing it....is that he's never actually crawled out of his crib. In fact, it's nice to put him somewhere safe and know that he'll be there when you come back. Plus,
I'm not down with interrupting my sleep pattern right now.
2. Potty Training
We have this one.
He LOVES reading about going potty. Especially loves books that show babies bums...he thinks it's "So cute!" We read them over and over.
He's just not interested in underwear.
Or sitting down.
This will have to be an all our nothing transition. With a strategy. Because willy-nilly- here-and -there training isn't getting through to my little cherub.
3. TOTALLY Binky Free
We are binky free all day. He doesn't use it at nap time or any other time at all except bed time.
But at bed time, he is in love.
This morning we talked about all the babies in the world who don't have binkies. And that some day soon we would have to give Dylan's to them, because that's the nice thing for a "Big Boy" to do.
He didn't think that was such a good idea at first.
But the minute we saw Daddy after our conversation he said "I'm going to give my binkies to a baby!"
4. Baby Preparation
Right now we read about Babies and being a Big Brother every day. Showing him pictures of my growing tummy when HE was in it! And lots of newborn pictures of himself.
Now that i'm feeling better we are going to start talking to him about the ACTUAL baby. You know..the one i'm growing!
Lots of big changes for my little man!
