Scared of the Dark.

My mother-in-law once said...you will not sleep again for at least the next 4 years now that you have multiple children.

And for a MINUTE I didn't believe her because we hit our sleep stride and have enjoyed a few months of sleep bliss.

But now, with Julia snoozing like a professional through the night....

It's Dylan's turn to wake us up in the middle of the night.

Dylan has ALWAYS been a great sleeper. He sleeps in total darkness and would just go to sleep at 7 and wake up at 6 every day!

But five days ago that all changed because he has decided he is "Scared of the Dark."

His anxiety starts at book time and even if we manage to get him to go to sleep by himself he inevitability wakes up in the middle of the night screaming in terror. No amount of proving to him that nothing is scary or alive in his room helps.

He is simply scared.

So we have introduced a night light. Another stuffed animal friend and we dutifully respond to his cries. Hoping against hope that this is a a stage and that soon we will be back to sleep land.
