Birthday Party

This weekend Dylan attended his first birthday party.

It was for the son of one of my work friends. His name is Zander.

He turned two and they held a bounce house castle  bbq at a state park.

The entire car ride to the party, dylan practiced saying "Happy Birthday".

We had to sing the Happy Birthday song, we had to say "Happy Birthday!" over and over, we had to describe what happens at birthday parties.

And when we finally got there.....he managed to eek out "Happy!" and gave the birthday boy a hug.

He ate his first cupcake. With a spoon. Every other child was covered in frosting and mine was using a spoon.

And because the party was going  on WAY after bedtime we had to leave before food was served. Which MEANT that Dylan had his first ever....

Happy Meal. And boy...was it a hit.

Those McDonald's people really know what they're doing.

Because not only were the chicken nuggets consumed with record pace, but the happy meal BOX entertained him the entire ride home. It managed to keep him from falling asleep and helped us stay on track for a problem free bedtime.

Below is our attempt at playing with the blow horn he got in his goody bag. He nailed it at first, but i couldn't capture it on film.

Oh..and he's naked b/c it rained and Daddy and Dylan were playing in the bounce house which was covered in dirty feet water. GROSS.
