When we lived up north, outings were a dime a dozen.
We could walk to the park.
Walk to the ocean.
Walk to the store.
Walk to Long Tall Sally's house.
Walk to the gym.
Walk to TOWN where there were people, things and places.
Down south. No one walks anywhere. There are NO side walks.
To WALK you have to DRIVE some place where there are trails.
So outings for our toddler are more of a challenge. Because it's not fun to drive when you're 21 months old. Especially when you're still rear-facing in your carseat.
We have to be CREATIVE. We have to make the most of what we have.
Hence the recent visit to my co-worker's cow pasture.
So our latest adventure was to....
We often passed by this place on our way to Jesus Care and dylan would always call out from the back seat..."TRACTORS!!!!" So we finally decided to go. And it was pleasantly surprising!
Sure there were tractors to ride....
But there was also an entire store inside that delighted not only my son but my husband as well.
John Deere fashion accessories.
John Deere Toys.
It was almost like a Lowes or Home Depot without the "helpful sales people".
And the best part was that we took home a prize for dylan. With a little assembly required.
But it pretty much made his day. In fact, we had to carry him around on it all day until bed time.

The Tractor Supply Company is the best!!! It is one of Michael's favorite stores! I am glad you enjoyed it and perhaps will be a regular like me!
ReplyDeleteLucky boy! He is such a little man. And it looks like you will never have a problem convincing him to mow the lawn when he is older!
