Decisions are a DRAG

When we decided to hit the road and travel this journey we call "Medical School" i really thought we had hit the end of big-decisions-ville.

Boy was I wrong.

The decisions have just increased in size and intensity since we began this entire process. We are now at a cross-roads where my husband must narrow down and ultimately decide what TYPE of physician he would like to become. It doesn't help that every 4 weeks he gets to try on another specialty for size.

And he's loved everything. Literally everything.

But he can't be a doctor of everything because frankly that would mean 20 more years of school and residency and to be honest..... I"m over being a student's wife.

What we DO know is that he loves doing procedures. His preceptors have PRAISED his skill with surgical instruments and surgical robots. He loves knowing his patients, not just seeing them for a few minutes and never again. And he also wants to be around for his own family...and his family wants him around ( most of the time.)

Once we make THAT decision there are 10,000 other ones to follow. Such as: where will we do residency? Will I beable to find a job? Will that be where we settle? do we want to move back north? Live in the south? explode from the stress?

Sometimes we just want to pretend we don't have to make up our minds. But the timeline get's shorter and the stress bigger. Especially with two little ones depending on us to make the decisions for them.

Where will they grow up?
