Soccer this year was a much better experience...for my husband and I.
Last year, we were somehow saddled with the coaching responsibiliry after the original coaches quit, all while we were adjusting to having a brand-new 6 week old baby at the game. We tried to give the job to one of the other parents but no one wanted it. Dylan was the youngest on the team and pretty much attached to my leg so it made things 10,000 times more difficult.
This year, we had two GREAT coaches. Dylan was much more interested in the sport and liked running up and down the field. He pretty much could have cared less if he kicked the ball but he did manage to score two goals.
Ulitmately, the big GOAL of soccer season at this age, is the cool trophy. I made goody bags for each player and we have a team party this weekend to celebrate in style.
